Premiership: Sunderland sign Mboma

Sunderland have signed Cameroon international Patrick Mboma on loan until the end of this season.

The 31-year-old striker agreed terms at the Stadium of Light today after being granted permission to leave Italian Serie A side Parma.

Mboma, a former African Player of the Year and Olympic gold medallist, missed Cameroon’s African Nations Cup clash with Senegal on Sunday due to a minor foot injury.

However, he is expected to make his Sunderland debut against Newcastle on February 24.
