Portsmouth have yet to complete the loan signing of Real Mallorca forward Leonardo Biagini after the Argentinian returned to Spain over the weekend.

Pompey had hoped to finalise the deal after holding preliminary talks with the 24-year-old on Friday but an agreement is not now likely until later in the week.

A club spokesman admitted: ‘‘It is taking longer than we had hoped but there is no problem with the deal going through.

‘‘He flew back on Friday and was due to fly in on Monday morning but he’s been delayed so it’s likely to hang over until later in the week.’’

Mallorca have agreed to a loan deal until the end of the season but Portsmouth director of football Harry Redknapp is still to agree personal terms with Biagini and his agent Steve Archibald.
