World Cup: Qualifiers 'running scared' of Argentina - Grondona
President of the Argentinian Football Association Julio Grondona believes other World Cup qualifiers are running scared of his country in the build-up to the tournament.
The Group F favourites, heavily tipped as Cup winners, have so far managed to arrange only two friendly matches before the World Cup, against Wales in Cardiff on Wednesday and against Germany in Stuttgart on April 17.
But it is not for a lack of trying, according to Grondona.
‘‘It seems the majority of the teams do not want to play against Argentina before the World Cup, and that is why it costs us so much to get matches,’’ he said.
‘‘The qualified teams do not want to go to the World Cup without positive results.’’
