Cork's title hopes all but ended as they had to settle for a point against relegation threatened Dundalk at Turner's Cross.

Both sides hit the woodwork in a lively first half.

Dundalk's Garry Haylock shot against a post on ten minutes before City's Colin P. O'Brien shot against the Dundalk bar from Ollie Cahill's corner on the half-hour.

In a disappointed second half Dundalk had the best opening when Martin Reilly did well to get in a shot that Michael Devine got down well to save.
