West Ham defender Sebastien Schemmel claims he has been targeted by Rangers manager Alex McLeish for a move to Ibrox.

The Frenchman admits he is flattered by the interest but insists he will only move from Upton Park if the Londoners choose to sell him.

He said: ‘‘I have heard Rangers are interested in signing me. I am happy and surprised that such a big club are looking at me but I’m happy at West Ham.

‘‘I love everybody at West Ham - I love the fans and I love the players. But I don’t know what will happen next season.

"I don’t want to leave but if West Ham do not want me then I will go.’’
