FA Cup: Middlesbrough cut FA Cup ticket prices

Middlesbrough have slashed ticket prizes for their FA Cup fifth round clash with Blackburn in a bid to fill the Riverside Stadium.

Only 17,624 people turned up to watch Boro beat Manchester United in the last round after the televised game was declared a Category A fixture with prices as high as £32.

But the club is hoping for a better response when Blackburn head for Teesside on Saturday, February 16, after cutting prices for season ticket holders to a maximum of £22 for adults and £15 for concessions, with the majority even cheaper.

"These prices have been set in view of the disappointing attendance for our fourth round win over Manchester United and the feedback we have received from supporters about the price of tickets for that tie," said club spokesman Dave Allan.

"FA Cup rules state that both clubs must agree on the prices and we have been able to agree with Blackburn what we believe are very attractive prices.

"This is a great chance to continue our cup run and we are hoping for a big attendance to get behind the team."
