Middlesbrough have withdrawn from negotiations with Manchester United over the possible signing of Trinidad and Tobago international Dwight Yorke.

The two sides had agreed a £6.25m (€7.9m) fee, but the transfer talks stalled yesterday when Yorke demanded a weekly wage of £57,000 (€72,000).
