Soccer: Boro withdraw from Yorke transfer talks
Middlesbrough have withdrawn from negotiations with Manchester United over the possible signing of Trinidad and Tobago international Dwight Yorke.
The two sides had agreed a £6.25m (€7.9m) fee, but the transfer talks stalled yesterday when Yorke demanded a weekly wage of £57,000 (€72,000).
Middlesbrough were also put off by the fact that Yorke could not play for them in the FA Cup after appearing in the competition for United at the weekend.
