Premiership: Toni future decided today

Derby were expected to make a decision this afternoon on whether to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Antonio ‘Toni’ Jimenez on loan for the remainder of the season.

Toni had a three-day trial at Pride Park last week and has already agreed to the move.

Officials from the Barclaycard Premiership club are negotiating with Atletico in Madrid today.

He has not been getting first-team football with the Segunda Division leaders.

The 31-year-old, who has played for Spain, now backs up Argentina international German Burgos in the Atletico goal.
