Soccer: Government officials to discuss joint 2008 bid

Officials from the Irish and Scottish Governments will meet in Dublin today to discuss the planned join bid to host the 2008 European Championships.

The talks will involve the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation and representatives from the Scottish First Minister’s office.

The closing date for submitting a bid to host the competition is February 28th.

The FAI is expected to meet the Scottish FA on Wednesday for further talks.
