The FAI will reopen contract talks with Ireland manager Mick McCarthy today.

McCarthy’s advisor, Liam Gaskin, will meet FAI officials in Merrion Square with a view to extending the manager’s current deal, which expires on Thursday.

The FAI has insisted that it cannot improve its offer of a four-year deal worth around €385,000 a year, but both sides are hopeful today’s talks can reach an amicable compromise.
