Players’ union chief Gordon Taylor has urged the Football Association not to make a special case of Jamie Carragher after the coin-throwing controversy at Highbury.

Taylor, chief executive of the Professional Footballers’ Association, has suggested it is the supporters who should face a clampdown and not the 24-year-old Liverpool defender.
