Football today mourned the death of former England international and ex-West Bromwich Albion striker, Jeff Astle at the age of 56.

Football today mourned the death of former England international and ex-West Bromwich Albion striker, Jeff Astle at the age of 56.

Astle, a member of the English 1970 World Cup squad, was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Burton-on-Trent, after he collapsed at his daughters home last night.

Former England captain, Alan Mullery said: "He was a legend at West Brom. They loved him and he was at Albion every time they were at home."
