Soccer: Zebina hopes for World Cup place
Jonathan Zebina still thinks he has a chance of being named in the French squad for the World Cup finals.
The Roma defender has never earned a full cap for his country but thinks Roger Lemerre could yet take notice of him.
Zebina was a regular in the Roma side that won Serie A last season.
He said: "The World Cup is an objective that becomes more and more precise and which takes up more and more space in my mind.
"I would really love to get a place in the French squad.
It's a difficult squad to break into but that said, I believe there will be an opportunity to seize to get into the 23 and play in this World Cup. I deserve to go.
"I don't want to be presumptuous but being a first-team regular with the Italian champions should allow me to get picked more times.
"I'm a bit of an outsider. I simply hope to be called up soon, but I mustn't spend too much time thinking about it."
