Premiership: Arsenal: Anelka fee paid

Arsenal have confirmed ahead of Nicolas Anelka's return to Highbury with Liverpool that they have received his £23m transfer fee from Real Madrid in full.

Reports had claimed that the final £7.5m installment of the fee was still outstanding from the Spanish club, who signed the striker in the summer of 1999.
