Premiership: Veron does not rule out Lazio return
Manchester United midfielder Juan Veron has refused to rule out a return to Lazio.
The Argentinian international left Lazio last summer for United in a £28.1m (€45.4m) deal.
But Veron said: ‘‘I was very proud to find out that the Cragnotti family would like to take me back to Lazio. I feel good in Manchester and I don’t think that going back would be very easy.
‘‘But in life one does not know and I don’t want to close the door to Lazio for the future. And I must admit that in England, I have still not found the warmth of the Lazio fans.’’
Veron denied there is a rift with United midfielder David Beckham, who has struggled to win a place in the first team on a regular basis recently.
The 26-year-old said: ‘‘It is not true that I have problems with David. I have a good relationship with him on and off the pitch.
‘‘The fact that he has to be on the bench should not be surprising because this can happen at a great team like Manchester United.
‘‘Beckham is one of the best players in the world. There are rumours that he might go to Italy but I think it will be difficult for him to leave Manchester.’’
