Sammy McIlroy says Northern Ireland are looking to arrange another friendly against one of the teams competing in the World Cup.

The Northern Ireland FA have already lined up friendlies against Poland and Spain ahead of the finals in Japan and Korea.

And now a third game - likely to take place in March - is on the horizon, although an opponent has not yet been named.

McIlroy said: "We are looking for another friendly in March against a team from the World Cup.

"The IFA are dealing with it and it should be good preparation for the start of our European Championship qualifying campaign.

"Games like this are big for us and it's good for the teams we play as well because it gives them some practice.

"The games against Poland and Spain will be stern tests and they represent the good opposition that I've been keen for us to come up against.

"They should be two good games against sides who have been doing very well."

The game with Poland will be played in Larnaca, Cyprus on February 13, while Spain visit Windsor Park on April 17.
