Premiership: England duty has drained Beckham claims Fergie

Alex Ferguson dropped David Beckham because the England captain was drained after leading his country to the World Cup finals.

Beckham was left out of the Manchester United squad for the match at Middlesbrough, having been named as a substitute for the previous three matches.
