Liverpool’s appeal against the sending-off of Dietmar Hamann against Sunderland last month has failed.

Liverpool’s appeal against the sending-off of Dietmar Hamann against Sunderland last month has failed.

The German midfielder was red-carded after a two-footed lunge on Bernt Haas in the Anfield clash.

Liverpool were unhappy with the decision and immediately appealed to the Football Association, but that appeal was rejected this evening.
