Soccer: FA rule out Cardiff venue switch
The Football Association have moved to block Cardiff's hopes of playing their FA Cup third round clash with Leeds at the Millennium Stadium.
Cardiff appealed to the FA to move the fixture from Ninian Park to the 72,500-capacity ground in the city.
But the FA insist the game must go ahead at Ninian Park.
A statement on the FA's website read: "We can confirm that the third round tie between Cardiff and Leeds will be played at Ninian Park.
"A request from Cardiff to play the above tie at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff has been received and considered.
"But it has been decided that in accordance with the competition's rules and procedures that the tie must be played on the ground of Cardiff City FC at Ninian Park.
"Ties are only switched to alternative grounds for security and safety reasons and as Ninian Park is able to stage this tie, then no change of venue is required.
"The tie will be live on Sky on a date and at a time to be confirmed."
