Premiership: Wise card to stand
Leicester City have failed in their bid to over-turn Dennis Wise's fifth yellow card of the season.
The midfielder was booked after a clash with David Ginola in Saturday's win at Villa Park.
It now means Wise will have to serve a one-match ban ruling him out of the Premiership encounter at Leeds on December 16.
Boss Dave Bassett asked referee Steve Bennett if he would look at a video of the challenge in the hope that the official would admit he had made a mistake to caution Wise.
But Bennett has opted to stick with the original decision.
Bassett said: "We thought that Dennis had got the ball. His left foot came around and he has not made contact with Ginola.
"We asked the referee to look at the video but he said 'no' and said that Ginola had been taken out by Dennis and so it was a yellow card.
"He will miss the Leeds game but it is part and parcel of the game that players who make tackles are going to get booked, and we just have to get on with it."
