Premiership: Babbel out of action for another three months
Liverpool defender Marcus Babbel will be out of action for at least three months after contracting Guillan-Barre Syndrome, an inflammation of the nervous system.
The German player has been sidelined all season while struggling to overcome a debilitating illness which has made it impossible for him to train.
Reports said he was making a recovery, but stand-in Liverpool manager Phil Thomspon confirmed today that he has contracted Guillan-Barre Syndrome and will be out for at least another three months.
