Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claimed fans would never have forgiven all those involved in the strike had the threatened industrial action gone ahead.

A deal was finally struck between the Professional Footballers Association and the Premier League and Football League today.

The agreement came eight days before a proposed strike action on December 1.

"We are in a world full of privileges and people would not have forgiven us if we had gone on strike," Wenger said.

"Examples from abroad shows that it takes a long time to get your fans back and everybody back on track, that is why it is really good news."
