The players’ union have offered to allow the three English football bodies to appoint watchdogs to keep an eye on their spending.

As part of negotiations aimed at averting a players’ strike over the allocation of television money, the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) are prepared to let the Premier League, Football League and Football Association appoint trustees to their three charitable funds.
