Soccer: Signs of thaw over players’ strike

There are signs a thaw may be taking place in the icy dispute over television money which could see players going on strike at the end of this month.

A two-hour meeting in Manchester last night ended inconclusively, but with some indications that frosty relations between the players’ union and the three English footballing bodies are beginning to melt.
