Soccer: Keane to miss second Iran match
Roy Keane has been ruled out of the second leg of the World Cup play-off against Iran which will be played in Teheran on Thursday.
The Irish captain had been a major doubt going into yesterday’s game and it is believed that he played through the pain barrier in order to help his country establish a comfortable lead in the first leg.
Keane has been sent home to Manchester where he will receive treatment to his troublesome knee injury and he is also scheduled to meet with a specialist to establish whether or not he will need surgery.
The Corkman has also revealed that he will not travel with the Irish team to Iran.
