James Keddy scored a 73rd minute goal to win this basement battle and lift Dundalk back out of the bottom three.

The closest United came to a goal in the first-half was a minute before the break when Bobby Ryan's chip was tipped over by John Connolly.

Dundalk, with just one point from their previous five games, pressed hard throughout the second-half and were rewarded when a David Ward shot deflected to Keddy and he volleyed home from the edge of the area.
