Eircom: Collins to swoop for Bohs Byrne

Carlisle boss Roddy Collins is set to swoop for Bohemians' Paul Byrne.

The midfielder is expected at Brunton Park for a week's training and Collins is hoping to set-up a permanent move.

Byrne, who began his career at Oxford, joined Celtic after a spell with Bangor and made 33 appearances for The Bhoys.

After a loan move to Brighton, Byrne switched to Southend for £80,000 before returning to Ireland with first Glenavon then Bohemians.
