Soccer: Hyypia to face United
Liverpool’s Sami Hyypia comes into contention for Sunday’s FA Barclaycard Premiership home clash with Manchester United following a rapid recovery from a hamstring strain.
The Finnish defender was injured against Boavista in Portugal 10 days ago but returned to training on Thursday - although caretaker-boss Phil Thompson may not risk him against the champions.
Midfielder Nick Barmby is out of contention and will need a scan on a damaged ankle received in training last week, but French full-back Gregory Vignal is back in training after a broken foot and could get a reserve outing in the next fortnight.
