Soccer: Ferdinand to miss Leeds-Troyes clash
England defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out of the Leeds squad to face Troyes in the UEFA Cup second round in France tomorrow.
The 22-year-old centre-half has picked up a hamstring injury and hasn’t even travelled with his team-mates for the second leg of the tie.
Ferdinand’s absence is a blow to Leeds manager David O’Leary’s plans but his team are already 4-2 ahead following the first leg in Elland Road. Leeds will also be without Lee Bowyer tomorrow night as the midfielder has to attend his trial in Britain.
