Soccer: Rebrov ultimatum for Spurs
Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle has been told to play Sergei Rebrov more often or risk losing the Ukraine striker.
With Teddy Sheringham and Les Ferdinand forming a formidable partnership, the 27-year-old has not started a game this season.
Rebrov’s agent Sandor Varga said: ‘‘Sergei is not very happy at the moment because someone of his level has to be playing. I would say something has to happen in the next month.
‘‘If Spurs don’t want to sell him, there is nothing we can do under the terms of his contract, but there are ways and means.
‘‘Sergei doesn’t want to leave, he wants to play. But he may decide to go if this carries on indefinitely.
‘‘It doesn’t make sense having him on the bench because the more Sergei is not playing, the more his value decreases - and that’s not good either for Spurs or the player.’’
