Premiership: Vieira 'waiting' for Juventus offer

Patrick Vieira has revealed three of Europe's biggest clubs are all chasing him - and he is tempted to say yes to Juventus.

The Arsenal and France midfielder recently indicated he was happy to continue with Arsene Wenger's team, who he joined from AC Milan for £3.5m more than five years ago.

But now the 25-year-old midfielder has admitted he is "interested" by the prospect of a move to Juve.

He told Tuttosport, a newspaper based in Turin - home of Juve: "Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United are all chasing me.

"But I can't deny the Juventus offer is the really interesting one.

"I'm a professional and as a professional my mind is open to all kinds of options for the future," said Vieira.

Juventus are reportedly set to part with Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids and £7m to get their man - whose contract at Highbury runs until 2004.

A run-in with Sinisa Mihajlovic during a Champions League match in Rome last season had Vieira ruling out a return to Rome.

The Lazio defender was banned and fined for verbally abusing Vieira, who now says: "That is in the past. In that moment I reacted by saying I'd never come back to Italy because of the rage of the moment.

"But now I can't say that the road back to Italy for me is closed, especially when the team that looks for me is Juventus.

"The 'Old Lady' is a club built to win and projected to win. And a player there, whatever his religion, colour or nationality, is sheltered for 365 days a year.

"Turin may not be the same as Paris, London or Milan, but Turin is Juventus and Juventus is a very big attraction.

"Juventus looked for me last spring but Arsenal said no and didn't want to let me go. And so I am here waiting for some news."
