Uefa Cup: Uefa uphold PSG victory

Uefa have upheld a decision to award Paris Saint-Germain a 3-0 victory after their match against Rapid Bucharest was abandoned in extra time because of a power cut.

Uefa's Appeals Body rejected the appeal by the Romanian side against the decision and said that PSG should advance to the second round of the Uefa Cup.

Uefa's Control and Disciplinary Commission decided last week that Bucharest should forfeit the match.

"In its findings the Appeals Body confirmed that the home club was to be held responsible for failing to respect the Uefa regulations as regards the lighting of the stadium," it said.

PSG led 1-0 in the 115th minute of their Uefa Cup second-leg game on September 25, having been held to a scoreless draw in the first leg.
