Soccer: Ginola to set record straight

David Ginola is set to put the record straight following speculation surrounding his future at Aston Villa.

The French winger has announced that he will hold a press conference next week when he will answer questions about his current situation at Villa Park, and talk about his future.

A statement issued on behalf of Ginola said: ‘‘Over the past few weeks there has been speculation concerning David Ginola’s future at Aston Villa.

‘‘David Ginola will clearly set out his position, the true facts, and his future intentions at a press conference next week.

‘‘Please note that David Ginola’s advisers will be in touch shortly with all media to advise of the date, location and time.’’

Ginola has been accused by Villa of making demands. These include having his contract paid up and being given a free transfer, or being given a year’s extension to his contract and being guaranteed a minimum number of games.
