Soccer: Houllier U-turns on Gerrard tackle

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has performed a dramatic U-turn over Steven Gerrard’s horror tackle which saw the England midfielder sent-off in the 3-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa on Saturday.

The 21-year-old - who scored in England’s 5-1 victory over Germany at the start of the month - was given his marching orders following a knee-high challenge on Villa’s George Boateng.
