Eircom League: Kirby goal gives points to Longford

Alan Kirby lifted Longford out of the bottom three with a deserved 66th

minute winner.

Keith O'Connor did the spade work to put Kirby clear down the right channel

and the winger did the rest, shooting low past Russell Payne.

The goal was no more than Town's second-half pressure warranted.

O'Connor headed against the bar while Henry Kenny missed a sitter.

Derry's Jamie Hughes then did likewise at the other end in stoppage time as

Derry went home empty handed.
