Eircom League: Rovers set up top of the table clash
Shamrock Rovers 4 Monaghan United 0
Shamrock Rovers blew Monaghan away from set-pieces to set up a top of the
table clash with league leaders Bohemians on Friday night.
Sean Francis set them on their way after just five minutes when Tommy
Dunne's free-kick was helped to him by Marc Kenny.
Terry Palmer then tapped home a Kenny free-kick for the second goal on 17
minutes.
More bad defending from a Kenny corner gifted Tony Grant the third seven
minutes before the break.
Billy Woods then scored the pick of the four on 52 minutes; volleying home
after Kenny's corner was cleared straight to him on the edge of the area.
