Liverpool have won the UEFA Super Cup after beating European champions Bayern Munich 3-2 in a thrilling encounter in Monaco last night.

New signing John Arne Riise opened the scoring for the Premiership side, with Emile Heskey adding a second just before half-time and Michael Owen a third 13 seconds after the restart.
