Rio Ferdinand is expected to captain Leeds in their Premiership opener against Southampton at Elland Road tomorrow.

The £18m central defender missed England’s friendly international against Holland on Wednesday night through injury but Leeds boss David O’Leary hopes he will be ready to start.
