Premiership: Ferdinand flies out for Dutch trip

Leeds skipper Rio Ferdinand will travel to Sparta Rotterdam for his club's final pre-season friendly despite fears over a hamstring injury.

Elland Road chief David O'Leary had suggested that Ferdinand could miss Leeds' Premiership opener against Southampton on August 18 after he picked the injury early in the pre-season programme.
