Champions League: Bohs hopes of Euro glory end

Bohemians 1, Halmstads BK 2 (full-time)

Bohs hopes of further European glory all but ended as Halmstads came from behind to take a precious 2-1 lead back to Sweden.

Goal machine Glen Crowe gave Bohs their reward for a bright start when heading

home a Simon Webb cross on 23 minutes.

But Bohs were rocked back on their heels on the half-hour when Wayne Russell

took down Stefan Selakovic and Tommy Jonsson scored from the penalty spot.

Crowe could have put Bohs firmly in the driving seat before the break but missed

two 1-on-1s with Halmstads keeper Hakan Svensson.

Those misses came back to haunt Pete Mahon's men as Selakovic chipped Halmstads

In front on 56 minutes as the Swedes carved open the Bohs defence to take their

precious lead.

Full of confidence thereafter, Halmstads might have added to their winning

margin before the finish leaving Bohs with a mountain to climb in the return

leg.
