Soccer: Bohemians off to Estonia in Champions League qualifier

Eircom League champions Bohemians were paired with Estonian side FC Levadia Maardu in the first stage of their quest to reach the lucrative Champions League group stages.

The first leg will take place at Dalymount Park on July 11 with the return leg taking place a week later.

If the Dublin side are successful in the first round they will next meet Swedish side Halmstads.

SPL runners-up Rangers have been handed a trip to Slovenia in the first stage where they will meet champions NK Maribor in the second qualifying round.

Although the dates are still liable to be switched, Rangers are now set to travel to the town of Maribor, near the Austrian border, on Wednesday July 25.

The two teams would then meet again at Ibrox a week later and the draw for the third and final qualifying round will already have taken place by then.

Rangers, one of the seeded teams, were the last name out of the hat in the draw in Geneva.

Scottish Premier League champions Celtic will be in the third qualifying round draw but the two Scottish sides cannot meet each other.

Rangers will be seeded because of their previous record in European competition, but Celtic will not.

Meanwhile Smirnoff Irish League champions Linfield were drawn against Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia while fellow representatives Glenavon will meet Scottish club Kilmarnock.
