Premiership: Liverpool confirm Riise's Anfield medical
Liverpool have confirmed that John Arne Riise was having a medical at Anfield ahead of a possible move from Monaco.
But chief executive Rick Parry insisted that the Norway midfielder's transfer was not a done deal.
Riise's agent, his mother Berit, revealed at the weekend that they were flying to Liverpool and said a deal was "100 per cent certain".
Parry said: "We have been given permission to talk to him but there are a number of things that need to be settled.
"We still have to agree terms with him and a fee with Monaco. But as he is going to be here it was felt it would be all right for him to undergo a medical as well."
Riise, also a target for Fulham, was a regular member of the 1999-2000 title-winning Monaco side.
But the 20-year-old fell out of favour with coach Claude Puel after admitting his desire to leave.
