Premiership: Charlton move for £5m Delap
Charlton have made a record £5m bid for Derby's Irish utility player Rory Delap.
Derby are likely to be interested in Alan Curbishley's offer, as they have a number of expensive transfers to pay for themselves, most notably the deal which will bring Fabrizio Ravanelli to Pride Park.
Delap can play anywhere down the right or even up front and has chipped in with some valuable goals for Derby in recent seasons.
However, Charlton may face some competition from Middlesbrough, whose new manager Steve McClaren is also known to admire Delap, although it is believed the Teesiders will not go above £3m.
