London mayor Ken Livingstone today rejected suggestions that England’s national stadium should be moved from London to the Midlands.

Football Association technical director Howard Wilkinson believes building the stadium in the Midlands rather than at Wembley could benefit England, claiming that national team manager Sven-Goran Eriksson agrees with him.
