Ireland and Scotland have launched a joint bid to bring the Euro 2008 tournament to the Celtic nations.

The Football Association of Ireland has revealed tonight that negotiations are underway to try to convince soccer's European governing body that the nations are capable of staging football's second most prestigious tournament.
