Soccer: Bayern boss - Lizarazu not leaving

Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld insists that Manchester United target Bixente Lizarazu will not be leaving the Champions League winners.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was reported at the weekend to be close to signing the £7m-rated French World Cup-winning full-back.

‘‘The player is very keen to join us as soon as possible,’’ he said.

But Hitzfeld was quoted in the German newspaper, Das Bild, today as saying he had no intention of selling Lizarazu or Brazilian striker Giovane Elber.

‘‘There is no point in talking about them leaving. I do not sell key players,’’ he said.
