Queens Park Rangers have ditched their plans to merge with Wimbledon following overwhelming opposition to the scheme from the club's fans.

It emerged last week that the two London clubs had discussed a possible merger, but fans of both teams immediately voiced their concerns.

On Sunday, after the match against Norwich, Wimbledon chairman Charles Koppel told the fans there will be no merger and QPR has now issued a statement also ruling out the move.
