Leeds United's bid to reach the Champions League final has been dealt a hammer blow by Uefa's decision to ban Lee Bowyer for three European matches.

That rules Bowyer out of Leeds' semi-final second leg tie against Valencia.

European football's ruling body said in a statement that it had found Bowyer guilty of 'deliberately' stamping on Valencia's Juan Sanchez in the semi-final first leg at Elland Road which finished 0-0.
