Athletics turns its back on Wembley

UK Athletics turned its back on the national stadium today by declaring it wants nothing to do with the Wembley fiasco.

As plans to rebuild the home of football lurch from one crisis to another athletics chiefs were yesterday celebrating a cash windfall of £8million from the Government towards their sport’s own new arena in north London.
