Soccer: Wilkins and Coppell to assist Vialli

Watford have confirmed that Ray Wilkins and Steve Coppell will move to Vicarage Road to join new manager Gianluca Vialli’s backroom team.

Watford have confirmed that Ray Wilkins and Steve Coppell will move to Vicarage Road to join new manager Gianluca Vialli’s backroom team.

Vialli, who will take up his new post on July 1, had promised to bring in his own backroom staff, although the club have not revealed what position Wilkins and Coppell will hold.

Coppell experienced winning promotion to the top flight as Crystal Palace boss while Wilkins has managed Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

The Hornets have, meanwhile, dismissed speculation linking them with a move for Brentford manager Ray Lewington.
